Long Live Kayla

San Pedro, CA

W
Story

I am starting a meal train for my dear friend and her family her daughter just lost an 8 year battle To cancer she was just 18 and she shouldn’t have to worry about simple thing like cooking and feeding her other 3 children when she is just trying to cope right now. I am Posting her story below. My beautiful daughter Kayla passed away on May 15, 2026, at 3:43 PM after courageously fighting cancer three separate times since the age of 10. Kayla was only 18 years old, but her strength, faith, and resilience inspired everyone around her. Despite everything she endured, she remained loving, caring, selfless, and full of heart. She always thought about others before herself and touched so many lives with her kindness and beautiful spirit. Kayla was a huge Dodgers fan and one of her wishes was to attend one more Dodgers game before she passed. She loved the ocean and especially loved spending time at Laguna Beach. Before her passing, one of the things she wanted most was to go back to the beach, a place that brought her peace and happiness. She enjoyed playing video games, loved music, and proudly played the trumpet while attending San Pedro High School. Kayla was also a straight-A student who continued pushing forward no matter how difficult life became. One of the moments we will forever cherish is that she was able to see and receive her high school diploma before passing. This June, she would have graduated with her class. Kayla also had a huge love for exotic luxury cars and had an entire Hot Wheels collection displayed on her wall. It was something that made her happy and reflected her fun personality and big dreams. Even during her hardest moments, she continued to smile, love deeply, and bring light to the people around her. Throughout her entire cancer journey, Kayla kept her faith in God and continued fighting with courage and grace. A few days before she passed, Kayla was able to say her goodbyes to us and remind us how much she loved us. We are incredibly grateful we were able to spend Mother’s Day together, a memory that will stay in our hearts forever. She was deeply loved by her family, friends, classmates, and everyone who had the blessing of knowing her. To us, she was not only an amazing daughter, but also an incredible sister and the heart of our family. As a family, we are completely heartbroken trying to navigate the unimaginable pain of losing such a beautiful soul. We are asking for help with funeral and memorial expenses and support for our family during this devastating time. Any support will allow us to focus on grieving, healing, and honoring Kayla’s memory without the added stress of financial hardship during this heartbreaking time. Any donation, prayer, or share means more to us than words can explain. Thank you for helping us honor Kayla’s beautiful life and memory. She will forever be loved, missed, and remembered.
