VEGAN MEAL TRAIN —TEAM CASS

One of our most cherished and active community leaders needs our help... It is Mutual Aid Wraparound time for our Beloved Sister In Love Cass Speck—a fighter for social justice, the children, elders, survivors, neighbors in need. The founder of Woodstock Mutual Aid (a community platform that calls folks to lean in for each-other, circulating support and widening capacity for those in need). As it is often the case, caregivers give to others before themselves, and mothers even more so. Now, one of our most cherished and active community leaders needs our help... Cass is a dedicated, loving single mom who is suffering with Familial Cerebral Cavernous Malformations. Recently a new lesion was found in her frontal lobe that has already bled. The pain and subsequent symptoms are really impacting her ability to navigate simple baseline activities. And now... Cass and her family's home is in jeopardy due to extenuating circumstances that make it unsafe to offer more details at this time. We love and adore Cass and her children. As we know, Children living with medical stress in the family suffer, but to be worrying about where home will be adds a tremendous amount of stress and trauma to growing up in these times of great uncertainty. In the time since Cass founded Woodstock Mutual Aid, it has not only helped many people with rides, vehicles, food and so much more, but she brings hope for Woodstock's cultural baseline in a time of great gentrification and displacement. She has also facilitated a community Free Fridge—the location to be announced in the coming weeks! Raising three of our community's beloved children—the next generation of community minded and caring Woodstockers... All while silently living in pain many of us could only imagine If there was a neighbor who gives above and beyond, it is Cass...
