Justin and Emily Dodson recently celebrated 20 years of marriage—a milestone marked with gratitude and joy. Just days later, everything changed. On their flight home, Emily began experiencing severe back pain. What initially seemed manageable quickly escalated. After weeks without relief and the sudden onset of jaundice, Justin and Emily went to the ER on March 20. There, they received devastating news: Emily has advanced pancreatic cancer that has begun to spread. In an instant, their world was turned upside down. Emily is now home after a procedure to relieve complications caused by the cancer and is meeting with her medical team to determine the best path forward—focused on comfort, care, and time together. Through it all, Justin, Emily, and their two daughters are walking this unimaginable road with courage and faith. In their own words: “Crushed but not abandoned.” The Dodsons have loved others deeply for years, serving in ministry, business settings, church, and their school community.
