Cris is battling Stage III Vulvar Cancer and will be undergoing a radical vulvectomy surgery on June 4th. She will likely be inpatient for the first two days, and will come home sometime that weekend. I (Ashley) will be staying with her from 6/4-6/8 to support the surgery, her time at the hospital, and her transition home. She will need daily checkins and more help starting the afternoon of 6/8. For some of you, physically helping may not be possible but as her friends and family, we've included you here with the thought that you might like to stay updated on Cris’ progress. Her recovery will be pretty demanding following surgery. For the first 2ish weeks, she will likely have limited mobility and need extra support with everyday things like meals, cat feeding and litter, laundry, light cleaning, errands, and just staying comfortable while she heals. Because Cris lives in a smaller apartment space and will have limited mobility temporarily, we’re trying to keep in-person support to one visitor/helper per day so she can rest and recover comfortably. Meals or supplies can always be left at the door if preferred, just give Cris a heads up so she can coordinate a neighbor to bring things inside. Cris: (610) 331-7038 Ashley - Niece: (703) 635-6351 Matt - Nephew: (610) 639-1201 If you’d like to help with providing meals, grocery drop-offs, rides, household chores, or simply checking in on her, would mean so much to Cris and our family during this time.
