Supporting the Higginbotham/Hall Family

Orlando, FL

Story

We’ve created this page to offer love and support for Katie and her family. Let’s rally around them and lift them up through acts of love and kindness. /// August 2025 - Obituary for our dear Katie: https://www.acommunityfuneralhome.com/obituaries/katherine-higginbotham/#!/Obituary A Note From Katie's Sisters - March 2025: Our sister and best friend Katherine Higginbotham was diagnosed four years ago with aggressive triple negative breast cancer (TNBC). While it was discovered at stage 1 and contained at the time, it has recently metastasized as stage 4 to multiple places throughout her body even after multiple rounds of chemo, radiation, immunotherapy, a double mastectomy, several surgeries, and thousands of out-of-pocket medical bills. To say this is a shock is an understatement as we were extremely hopeful this battle had been won. Since previous treatments weren’t effective, we explored potentially entering a clinical trial with Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL but due to where her cancer is, she is ineligible and will be getting standard care. Katie has worked as an elementary school teacher for around 18 years. She has a passion for teaching, helping her students excel, and truly enjoys her job but will need to stop working to focus on treatment. Her husband, Bill, is a sports physical therapist and they have two wonderful children, Maxwell turning 8 this year, and Eleanor who just celebrated her 4th birthday and they are the light in our lives. If you feel so inclined, any donation will be greatly appreciated as finances is an added stressor to an already unfathomable time for this amazing family - especially as Katie is unable to work to focus on treatments. Medical & financial care is not all that is needed for healing! We humbly ask you to also support this family with an outpouring of love and positivity at this time. - Molly & Hannah Hall
