Abby was at football practice last Monday. They were practicing with the JV team and a freshman accidentally ran into to the side of her face with the top of her head. She faced a blackout concussion and her face is fractured in 4 places. Her orbital bone under her right eye is fractured into tiny pieces but held into place. She was transported to children’s hospital in Oakland. Luckily no internal bleeding. We are home now and we will be going back on Tuesday. She most likely will be having plastic surgery on her face. She can’t feel her teeth or open her jaw very wide. Super scary, but could have been a lot worse.
