Story

Hey Everyone. It's Alyssa (Jason's wife). A special shoutout to Kaelah for making this page possible. Just a little background for what is going on. At our Dodger Baseball end of the season gathering, Coach Jason had a wonderful idea to play wiffle ball with his players to have some fun. Everything was going great until he was attempting to fake out one of the kids that was running and his neuropathy led him to think his feet were moving, when they weren't. The end result of the play was he collapsed on the field and ruptured his ACL, PCL, and damaged a meniscus. #wiffleballisnotforwimps After a night in the Emergency room with 2 X-rays, a CT scan, an MRI and 1 knee manipulation he came home to start recovery. The next phase of his recovery is surgery. He will have surgery on Wednesday June 15th at Multicare Gig Harbor Medical Park. He will then come home and start the next phase of recovery which will be a good amount of rest followed by physical therapy. His hopes (more than anything) is to be mobile enough to get back on the field and Coach the boys this summer during tournament season. Whether that is with some assistance of a wheelchair, walker or crutches... he will make it happen regardless. We can't thank you all enough for your support, kind words, and concern. Jason and I rely on one another so much that it is always hard when half of your home team is out of commission. It is always hard to ask for help, but I can admit that the help that we have received just this week from friends and family with taking care of our kids, etc has been MORE than appreciated.

Special Notes

Jason doesn't have any food allergies. He did recently have colon cancer so he can't handle foods that are too spicy or too rich in fiber. A small amount of fiber (such as beans or broccoli) is fine. Just not in large quantities. Also, he can only handle small portions of ruffage at a time. He loves to eat salads, but they don't always agree with him.
