On Monday, June 16 our dear Mandy experienced a heart attack due to a congenital valve issue. She's doing well and holding court at St Elizabeth in Edgewood KY as she awaits surgery on Tuesday June 24. This will be a pretty intense procedure, where a portion of her aortic valve will be replaced through an incision in her sternum. But the good news is her heart is strong and arteries are clear, so she's a great candidate for this procedure. The care team at St E is wonderful and doing their best to make sure Mandy is informed and comfortable. Mandy's recovery will include up to five days in the hospital and then 3-5 months at home, where she'll be attended to by her son Clay. Her sisters Ginny, Tawney & Kathy will also be part of the support tag-team for the first couple weeks at home. She will be unable to lift heavy objects or strain her upper body for 4-6 weeks, so we'd like to ease the burden of healing by providing some meals for the family. Let's rally together to help Mandy heal fast and get to enjoying RETIREMENT!!!!
🎂 Mandy's birthday is June 28! She'll be spending it in the hospital so be sure to send her some love :)
