Our beloved Ava was diagnosed with leukemia in early October. After two months in the PICU, Ava spent another 3 months in the hospital recovering and regaining strength. After 6 months in the hospital, Ava is finally coming home to finish out her treatment. Ava has a planned course of 9 months of chemotherapy where her immune system will be weakened before a less intensive maintenance phase. We know she's a tough cookie and she'll make the best of it. We're looking to cheer Helen, Ezzeri, and Ava on with loads of love, support, food, and activities.
After 6 months in the hospital, Helen, Ezzeri, and Ava are finally heading home from the hospital. Ava will continue her treatment and recovery from home. For now, the best way to provide support is to send positive and healing vibes their way, sign up for the meal train, or send over your favorite art project or board game.
