Dear Friends and Family, We are reaching out to help support Rob, Anna, and their two children, Austin and Charlie, (ages 9 and 11) as they prepare for a major event: Rob's kidney transplant on December 16, 2025! This life-changing surgery is only possible thanks to Rob's incredible brother, David, who is donating his kidney. The family is incredibly grateful for the outpouring of love and is now asking for practical support to allow them to focus entirely on recovery and managing life with a low immune system.
MEALS Dietary & Safety Notes (CRITICAL): Gluten: Anna, is strictly gluten-free (GF). Please feel free to bring non-GF meals or treats, but please label to indicate whether they contain gluten or not. High risk foods: Rob is not allowed to have sushi, rare meats, raw yolks - basically all the delicious things Family Favorites: They love Mexican food, pizza, Thai food, and ramen. Delivery is Wonderful! If cooking isn't your thing, gift cards for DoorDash or other food delivery services are a fantastic way to support them easily. Holiday Treats Welcome! The family would love holiday cookies, small treats, or desserts during this time. Please call our text Anna the day off to coordinate drop off. Many people have asked what else they can do. With Rob recovering and the kids home from school, there are two huge additional areas where the family needs support: CHILDCARE Volunteers and Activities for the Austin & Charlie (Ages 9 and 11): The kids would love volunteers to take them out for a few hours to do fun, distracting things (movies, park, library, etc.). The family also appreciates drop-offs of new or gently used fun at-home activities to keep the kids quietly busy while Rob rests. Ideas include: new LEGO sets, craft kits, puzzles (500+ pieces), science kits, or new board/card games. TRANSPORTATION The week of transplant, Anna and Rob will need help getting the boys to and from school. The days they need help are on the calendar below. Please sign up if you are able to help out. Both boys are no longer in boosters. SAFETY NOTE Rob will be very, very sensitive to infection for many weeks after the transplant. If you are not feeling healthy on the day of your meal delivery or childcare, please let Anna know and consider alternative ways to support the family.
