One Team. One Community. Here for Them. When a family loses someone as important as Keith, they need more than words. They need a community willing to show up. On October 6, 2026, Kate lost her husband, best friend, and life partner of 18 years, and their sons, Lucas, 13, and James, 9, lost their dad. Their beloved niece, Ava, 14, is also part of the family navigating this heartbreaking loss. Keith was a skilled carpenter, a gifted artist, a devoted husband and father, and a man with a big heart and a wonderfully dry sense of humor. He worked hard for his family and showed his love through his actions. Whether he was coaching his boys, helping a friend with a home repair, or bringing his artistic talents to a project with his children, Keith found ways to show the people he loved that they could count on him. One of the many ways he made childhood special was by helping Lucas create elaborate Halloween costumes, including an incredible Lightning McQueen costume that reflected Keith’s creativity and attention to detail. He put his own artistic touch into the project while making room for his son to be part of the process. It was Keith in a nutshell: talented, playful, and always willing to put his time and heart into the people he loved. Now, Kate is grieving while caring for the boys and managing the many responsibilities that follow such a profound loss. We want her to know that she does not have to manage all the practical details alone. Our goal is to surround her and the children with tangible support, giving them more time and space to grieve, be together, and begin navigating the days ahead. How We Can Help Our immediate goal is simple: take meal planning, grocery shopping, and some everyday responsibilities off Kate’s plate so she can focus on herself and the children. Through this page, we are coordinating: Restaurant meal deliveries to make dinner one less thing to worry about. Grocery deliveries and grocery gift cards for food and everyday essentials. DoorDash and restaurant gift cards so Kate can choose what works best for the family. Other practical support as needs arise and the family lets us know what would be most helpful. Every delivery, gift card, and thoughtful gesture can make a real difference. Something as simple as having dinner taken care of means one less decision, one less errand, and a little more time together during an overwhelming period. Important Food Safety Information: Severe Gluten Allergy Kate has a severe gluten allergy. Gluten-free food is a medical necessity, not a preference. Please order prepared food only from restaurants that can safely accommodate a gluten-free diet and take precautions to prevent cross-contamination from shared cooking surfaces, utensils, equipment, fryers, and food preparation areas. Simply labeling a meal “gluten-free” may not be sufficient if these precautions are not in place. If you cannot confirm that a restaurant can safely prepare the meal and prevent cross-contamination, please send a DoorDash, restaurant, or grocery gift card instead. This allows Kate to choose food she knows is safe for herself and her family. When in doubt, please choose a gift card. Your thoughtfulness and care for Kate’s safety mean so much. Let’s Keep Showing Up Support matters not only in the first days after a loss, but also in the weeks and months that follow, when everyday responsibilities continue even as grief remains. Many of you know Kate and her family through soccer, baseball, basketball, work, friendship, extended family, or the wider Billerica community. The BYSA soccer community is coming together to support Kate and the children, and we hope that friends, neighbors, and others who care about this family will join us. Billerica has a long history of coming together for its own, and now it is our turn to show up for Kate and her family. We cannot take away their grief or make this loss easier to understand, but we can help lighten the everyday load and remind them that they are not alone. We are coordinating this support so Kate does not have to manage a calendar of deliveries, organize every detail, or repeatedly explain what she needs. Our hope is to make accepting help as simple and comfortable as possible. Here are a few ways to help: Sign up to provide a meal or grocery delivery. Send a grocery, DoorDash, or restaurant gift card. Offer another practical form of support. Share this page with others who may want to help. Please remember that support will be just as meaningful in the weeks ahead as it is right now. If you are unable to help today, consider checking back or sharing the page with someone who can. Keith spent his life showing his love through his actions, his creativity, his humor, and the countless ways he showed up for the people around him. Now, we have an opportunity to show up for the family he loved so deeply. Let’s be the community that stands beside Kate, Lucas, James, and Ava—not just today, but in the weeks and months ahead. One team. One community. Here for them
