Karen has faced numerous health challenges in recent years. In November 2024, she was diagnosed with leptomeningeal disease, a rare and serious complication where cancer spreads to the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord. This diagnosis marked the recurrence of cancer within her spinal cord. The first occurence lead to paralysis from the chest down and the reoccurrence necessitating full-time use of a wheelchair. Living alone, Karen now seeks assistance with daily tasks around her home, including running errands and light housekeeping. Her goal is to maintain as much independence and quality of life as possible while managing her health conditions.
