Recently, our mom, Kristen, was diagnosed with an extremely rare vascular condition called Segmental Arterial Mediolysis (SAM). This condition weakens the walls of certain arteries and, in her case, has caused multiple aneurysms throughout her body. Getting to this diagnosis has been a long and exhausting journey. It took months of doctor and specialist appointments, blood work, MRIs, and other testing just to begin getting answers. Now that we finally have a diagnosis, the next step is getting her the specialized care she needs. Because SAM is so rare, there are very few places equipped to manage a case like hers. One of those places is the Mayo Clinic in Arizona, which means this journey will involve not only continued medical care, but also travel and the many expenses that come along with it. As you can imagine, the medical bills have already begun to add up, and the financial stress is becoming another burden for her to carry on top of everything else. We know that God is in control, and right now we are asking His body to do what it does best: show up for her. If you feel led to give, no amount is too small.
