My life long friend Krystal and her husband Mike are going through a really hard time. Mike was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, and after more tests, they found that the cancer has spread to his chest and esophagus. The news has been devastating, it has changed everything for their family. They were hoping for surgery, but with the cancer spreading so aggressively, treatment options have become very limited. This is Mike's second fight with cancer. He had throat cancer 10 years ago where his voice box and vocal cords were removed. He went through radiation and still worked everyday after treatments. Mike is a fighter! Those of you that know Mike know what a hard worker he is. Alrhough this time around has hit hard and he hasn't been able to work in 4 months. Mike is a dedicated Husband, Father and Grandfather (They are also raising their two grandkids 10 & 12), it is weighing heavy on him not being able to provide for his family in addition to the weight of the most recent diagnosis. Right now, Mike isn't able to work at all and Krystal is only able to work a few days a week if that and definitely not enough to keep them afloat. They are constantly traveling back and forth to the hospital for appointments and treatments and his wife Krystal is by his side every step of the way to support and care for him. The bills are piling up— monthly bills and everyday expenses are becoming overwhelming. They are also raising two of their grand children, they are 10 and 12 years old. With Mike's cancer doctors being in Louisville, they are spending much more on gas just to get to the hospital and other medical appointments, while also paying for food, lodging and other essentials out of pocket. Life has become incredibly challenging, and the stress is taking a toll on both of them. I'm reaching out to ask for a little help to take some of the burden off their shoulders. Any and all help is welcome, if you are local to Salem, KY and want to send dinner over or want to send gift cards or help with things for the grandkids they are raising, it would be greatly appreciated! You can sign up on the calendar to bring breakfast, lunch or dinenr or groceries. CASH donations are welcome and any funds will go directly to the Broderick family toward their bills, travel expenses, prescriptions, food, etc. Even the smallest contribution will make a difference and help them focus on what matters most—being together and fighting through this difficult time. Please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser to help spread the word. Thank you all in advance for your kindness and support! 🙌 If you would like to make a monetary (CASH) donation directly to the family please click on either the DONATE for CASHAPP or VENMO buttons below this and your CASH donation will be sent directly to the Broderick family.
