Faith, Hope & Lori is page supporting Lori Chestnut who is fighting Stage III Merkel Cell Carcinoma with Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. Lori was diagnosed in June of 2026 with Merkel Cell Carcinoma after a routine trip to her primary care physician found a lump over her right eye. Lori had surgery at Moffitt on August 17th and the surgeon was able to get clear margins on her eyelid and confirmed Stage III Merkel Cell Carcinoma by sentinel lymph node biopsy. We have had some delays due to surgeon clearances and are waiting on the scheduling of the PET scan and permanent skin graft surgery. We are trying to get in sooner with the oncologist to work on a treatment plan but nothing moves fast and Lori will need to be cleared from skin graft surgery before treatment can begin. Amber is providing advocacy at visits and keeping the Doctors on their toes. This page is to consolidate resources, volunteers, and updates to coordinate care for Lori during treatment. We are looking for assistance with transportation to and from treatments, meal assistance, running errands, grocery shopping and personal support. As we are narrowing down treatment schedules, we will be adding needs to the calendar for volunteers.
