Operation: Evict Uteresa 😂🫶🏻 On October 2, I’m having a full hysterectomy with extensive endometriosis excision. The plan is to keep my ovaries unless they find that one has been significantly affected, and there’s also a possibility that bowel involvement could make surgery and recovery a little more complicated. My doctor has officially put me down for an 8-week recovery, with very strict activity restrictions in the beginning. Since it’s just Jay and I, and since apparently our three dogs and three cats have absolutely no intention of becoming contributing members of this household 😂, we’re calling in our village. I’ve set up this page so anyone who wants to help can easily see what we actually need. Meals, walking the dogs while Jay is working, helping with dishes or a quick household reset, running an errand, sending a gift card, or simply coming over to keep me company are ALL incredibly helpful. We absolutely do not expect one person to do a bunch of things. Claim a meal. Walk the dogs once. Send lunch from your couch. Come do my dishes and sit down to gossip with me afterward or during. 😂 Every little thing takes something off Jay’s plate and helps me actually follow my doctor’s orders and rest instead of trying to do shit I have no business doing. We love and appreciate our people more than you know. ❤️
Food allergies: Ashley is allergic to seafood; Jay is allergic to olives. Please call or text before coming over, even if you’ve already claimed something on the calendar, so we know you’re on your way and can confirm plans haven’t changed. Once we’ve talked, the front door will usually be unlocked. Knock once or twice and come on in, you do NOT need to wait for me to get up and answer the door. The dogs will absolutely insist on greeting you. 😂 Just tell them “Down, you wait your turn” and they’ll back off, mostly. 🫣 There are no visiting restrictions. If you want to drop something off and run, that’s completely fine. If you want to come in, sit down and keep me company for a while, you’re absolutely welcome to do that too. ❤️ Surgery and recovery plans may change depending on what they find during surgery and how my body responds, so some scheduled needs may change along the way. We’ll keep this page updated.
