Jessica will be undergoing a bilateral nipple sparing mastectomy on July 31st. But, that’s just the beginning of her journey. Jessica will spend 3-6 months after the mastectomy with expanders inserted to prepare for the reconstruction of her breasts. So, for at least the time that the expanders are in place, Jessica will be extremely limited on mobility. She won’t be able to push, pull, or lift more than 5 lbs during that time and she won’t be able to raise her arms for that duration either. She will be a T-Rex. She is planning to take 8 weeks off of work after the mastectomy and 4 weeks off after reconstruction, assuming all goes well with both surgeries. Jessica, her partner Tyler, and her two children would appreciate any helping hands and loving thoughts that are sent their way.
