Welcome to Team Misty — lovingly united against Mildred. 💛 If you know Misty, you know she is strong, thoughtful, funny, and the kind of person who would show up for everyone else without hesitation. Now it’s our turn to show up for her, Chad, Emerson, and Penny as they navigate this season together. Misty begins radiation on Wednesday, May 20, which will continue for approximately 5–5.5 weeks, followed by a short break before beginning four months of drip chemotherapy. While there are still many unknowns ahead, one thing is certain: this family is deeply loved and supported. In true fashion, the cancer has officially been named “Mildred,” because if something unwanted is going to move in uninvited, it might as well get a name we can all roll our eyes at together. At this time, the biggest need is help easing the day-to-day load through meals, restaurant gift cards, and practical support as treatment begins. We are intentionally keeping things flexible while learning what support will be most helpful in the weeks ahead. A few helpful notes: • Porch drop-offs are preferred (no-contact delivery please) • Dinner drop-offs before 5 PM are most helpful • Favorite spots include Chick-fil-A, Starbucks, Fuzzy’s, and Babe’s • DoorDash and Uber Eats gift cards are greatly appreciated for flexible meal options Most importantly, thank you for loving this family so well. Every meal, message, prayer, gift card, and act of kindness helps carry a little bit of the weight during this season.
