Meals with love for Jake

Hi, I'm Maria and I'm starting this meal train for my Brother in law Jake, my sister Mindy and their kids Brooklyn, Madison and Weston. I want to help relieve a tiny bit of burden from them from the daily chore of trying to figure out "whats for dinner" as Jake is healing from brain surgery. A little background on how this all came to be. This is wild and definitely was not on anyone's radar. I will try to keep it brief and if i have any of the details wrong, i apologize. Jake had a routine eye appointment about 2 weeks ago that like all of us had been meaning to make for quite some time. At that appointment, they saw some swelling in his optic nerve and referred him to a specialist. Fast forward 2 weeks to Wednesday. He arrived at the appointment and Mindy met him there. I guess they performed lots of tests and asked lots of strange questions and told him that he needed to go straight to the emergency room for an MRI of his brain. So of course they headed straight there and got the MRI. The results were very unexpected and scary. They found a cyst in the center of his brain. He was then transferred to Tacoma and the plans for brain were underway. From an eye appointment to being scheduled for brain surgery in 1 day is something that shook our family. Jake had surgery on Friday and things went well. He is going to have a long recovery which is to be expected after having brain surgery. I just wanted to set something up to help ease some of the every day stresses and deciding what to make for dinner is one of the worst. Lol If you are willing to prepare a meal or donate gift cards that they could use to order in, it would mean the world to me and I know them too. Jake is such a caring person and would give you the shirt off his back, but he would never ask for help. And they are not asking, I'm asking!! Please reach out if you have any questions!!
