Support the Bucher Family

Story

This October, five-year old Zoey will undergo her second open-heart surgery at Children’s Hospital in Omaha. Born with a combination of Transposition of the Great Arteries and Tetralogy of Fallot, she had her first open-heart surgery at just 8 weeks old during the height of COVID. On October 1, she will undergo surgery to replace an artery, most likely using a donor artery. While we are hopeful that this recovery will be easier than her first, we don’t yet know how long she will be in the hospital or what her recovery will require. She will likely come home with significant restrictions before she is able to return to kindergarten. Her first surgery resulted in more than a month in the hospital due to complications including a lung infection, blood clot, and blood pressure issues. As this family prepares for another difficult season, we would love to surround them with prayer and practical support. Your gift can help ease some of the financial and everyday burdens that come with time away from work, travel, medical expenses, and caring for their family during her recovery. Thank you for helping this family feel supported and cared for through this journey.
