Story
Megan is a loving single mother to her two beautiful children, Kayden (6), and Kaelynn (4). Recently, Megan has recently been diagnosed with Stage 0 ductal carcinoma in situ. w/BRCA1 genetic mutation. She is having to prepare for a Bilateral Mastectomy in the upcoming weeks. This GoFundMe campaign is to help Megan cover her medical expenses, support her children, and ensure they have the stability they need during this challenging time. Megan has such a heart of gold and will do anything she can to help anyone who needs it. She’s a dedicated mother who works tirelessly to provide for Kayden and Kaelynn. Despite the challenges of being a single mom, Megan’s positive spirit and determination have always shone through. She’s the type of person who would give you the shirt off her back, always ready to lend a hand or a listening ear. (DCIS) is a non-invasive or pre-invasive cancer where abnormal cells have been found in the lining of the breast milk ducts. DCIS is considered Stage 0 breast cancer because it is localized and has not spread, or metastasized, to other areas of the body, such as lymph nodes or other organs. However, the high nuclear grade of her cells means it is rapidly expanding and can burst through at any moment. If it does it will be very aggressive to treat. Right now, she is at Stage 0, but if it bursts, she could be at Stage 3 overnight. The doctors have decided that a Bilateral Mastectomy (removal of both breasts) in the upcoming weeks is the best treatment option as she has already started other treatments until surgery which has been extremely rough for her. Since she is BRCA1 positive, she essentially has a very high chance of cancer coming back - the cancer that returns could potentially be an unconfined variant. As you can imagine, the cost of treatment is overwhelming. She will be undergoing a double mastectomy with currently going through other treatments before the procedure. In addition to the medical bills, Megan’s ability to work will be severely impacted with a minimum of 8 weeks out for her 1st of 3 procedures she will undergo. The financial burden is immense, and with two young children to care for, Megan needs our support more than ever. We are hoping to raise enough money to help Megan cover her medical expenses and provide some financial stability for her and her children during this difficult time. The funds will be used for: • Medical bills and treatment costs • Medications and follow-up appointments • Childcare and daily living expenses No donation is too small. Every contribution will make a significant difference in Megan’s fight against cancer. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this campaign with your friends, family, and social networks. Your support and prayers are greatly appreciated.
