Bill was diagnosed with blood cancer (Leukemia) and total kidney failure, and pnuemonia on February 21st. He was transferred from Carbondale Memorial Hospital to St. Clare Hosptial in MO, and then sent immediately to Saint Louis University Hosptial (SLU) for oncology treatment. It has been a slow process to restart the kidneys, address the pneumonia, and begin a chemotherapy treatment plan. Bill will be returning to Carbondale sometime mid-next week where he will continue receiving chemo treatments and kidney monitoring. He will be receiving in-home continued care and moving residents. He will live with me as his full-time caregiver. Many have reached out asking if they can help with meals, grocery deliveries, or errands, and we would greatly appreciate any and all help given. We thank you in advance as we begin this new journey back to health.
