From Tabitha: As many of you know, Hannah began having seizures in June. We have been able to see a neurologist and have testing done at a rapid pace; for that we are grateful! She underwent a 48 hour EEG that allowed for them to rule out epilepsy as the cause. While that sounds amazing, it actually opens up a lot more questions. In the last few weeks, she has began to have fainting spells frequently - almost daily and sometimes more than once a day. Our next step for this is to see a cardiologist for a work up. We have that appointment set for this week. Our current concern is that Hannah had a severe migraine on Saturday night that resulted in amnesia. Initially, it was severe enough that she didn’t not remember our immediate family. It was a very difficult weekend as we began to process what she does / doesn’t remember. Short version - in her mind, it is early January 2020. At the recommendation of her neurologist, we are helping stimulate some of her memories by introducing her to her current likes/dislikes of music, foods, etc. Music is powerful and particular songs have brought back specific moments of time. The hardest part for her is the fear that people will be upset that she doesn’t remember them. We are grateful for each of you who have reached out with words of support and encouragement. We know that each of you care about Hannah and our family, so we felt this would be the best way to keep everyone posted on updates and specific prayer requests. As I’m sure you can imagine, this is an overwhelming time and keeping up with everyone is just nearly impossible 😅
The family doesn’t know from day-to-day what the schedule will hold. For that reason, we are not setting up a meal train or anything along those lines. However, gift cards for quick meals are appreciated. Some of the family’s favorites are Chick-fil-A, Freddy’s, McAlister’s, Raising Canes, Johnnie’s, Hideaway, and Fuzzy’s. They also enjoy HTeaO, Braum’s, and Sonic.
