Penda and her mom, Gerri Preston, have been a blessing to our community. After a difficult battle with medical issues, Gerri has gone home to be with the Lord. Throughout this journey, Penda has lovingly cared for her mom, taking her to doctor appointments and surgeries while also navigating the demands of starting a new job. Wanting to make sure her mom had a comfortable place to recover after surgery, Penda secured a three-bedroom home so Gerri could have a room of her own. She even moved them into their new home before Gerri was released from rehab. Now, as Penda faces the heartbreaking loss of her mom, we have an opportunity to pour that same love back into her. This blessing is intended to help comfort Penda as she makes arrangements for her mom and ease some of the financial burden during this difficult season. Let’s surround Penda with love and support through prayers, meals, financial blessings, and any other ways we can help. Her sister will be joining her later this month to help plan Gerri’s celebration of life. Let’s remind Penda that she is not alone, that she is loved, and that our community is here to walk alongside her during this difficult time. ❤️
