Home Support for Marilyn

W
Story

On 4/16/2026, Marilyn Harshbarger had a hemorrhagic stroke late in the evening and was taken to the hospital via ambulance. After an 8 day hospital stay, Marilyn came home. She now requires 24/7 care, as she is bed bound. This was Marilyn's desire, but the family can't do it alone. This page is to get some help on particular days for whatever is needed during those times. It could be just sitting with her to visit, being a helping hand with care as most things take two people, or just monitoring her while she rests. Please feel free to visit. Bring your favorite memories to reminisce, voices to encourage singing, or a quiet presence just to sit. All are welcome!

Special Notes

In addition to Marilyn's physical needs, there is an additional need. One of her cats, Deacon, LOVES to be close to Marilyn - particularly on her head. Marilyn is not able to adjust the cat or push him off. As a result, he can't run free and has to be locked in a single room at night and often during the day. If there is someone who might be willing to foster Deacon and possibly care for him long-term, that would be an incredible relief! If you are interested, please let Scott or another caregiver know.
