Many of you know Lindy Camardella as a tireless leader and advocate for our profession — serving on the ILSA Board since 2013 and as our President from 2018 - 2022. She has also represented Illinois nationally through the American Society of Acupuncturists, chaired the ASA Public Education Committee, and played a key role in major legislative efforts that have shaped acupuncture in our state. Today, Lindy is facing one of her greatest personal challenges. After more than two years of breast cancer treatments and recovery, she was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast-to-brain cancer. She has undergone brain surgery and will begin targeted radiation, immunotherapy, and ongoing monitoring while taking at least a year away from work to focus on her health. ILSA stands with Lindy and is here to support her in every way we can. We’ve launched this to create a gift card train to support her and her family with Meals, Food delivery services, Rideshares, Maid services, Childcare, Self-Care items, At-home Wellness professional services, and more—allowing the family to focus on healing while feeling cared for and supported. Respectfully, ILSA Board
