Help My Brother Jeff Stay Safe & Surrounded by People. He Can’t Do It Alone

Story

💛 Please Help Me Keep My Brother Jeff Safe, Stable, and Surrounded by People My name is Shannon, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart asking for help for my brother, Jeff. Jeff is 40 years old and living with Huntington’s chorea disease, a progressive brain disorder that affects his movement, thinking, and independence. Even with everything he faces, Jeff has always loved being around people. He feels happiest and safest when he’s in a social, structured environment. 💛 Why I Need Help Jeff was placed in a halfway house in Knoxville. The program has been truly supportive, patient, and good to him — but they are still a business, and they rely on fees to stay open. Because Jeff’s disability income has been delayed for months, he has fallen behind on payments and now owes $7,000. If this balance isn’t paid soon, Jeff will lose his placement. Losing stable housing and routine would be devastating for someone with Huntington’s. This program has become his lifeline — the place where he feels connected, safe, and less alone. 💛 What Your Support Will Do Your kindness will: Pay off Jeff’s overdue halfway house fees Allow him to stay in a safe, supportive environment Keep him around people, where he feels most comfortable Help bridge the gap until his disability income starts Cover essential needs as his condition progresses 💛 Why This Matters I love my brother deeply. Jeff doesn’t want to live isolated on the mountain with me, and I want to honor his wishes for as long as I can. He deserves dignity, stability, and a place where he feels like he belongs. I cannot do this alone. That’s why I’m asking for help. Any amount truly helps. If you can’t donate, sharing this page is just as powerful and appreciated. Thank you for caring about Jeff and helping me fight to keep him safe and supported. — Shannon
