My friend Crystal and her husband recently opened their house to foster children a few weeks ago. Everything was going great until Crystal’s husband, Antione, got very very ill. One night she had to call 911 to get him to the hospital, where he was put in ICU with a very serious brain infection. He had to be sedated so his brain could rest. It was very touch and go for a bit. Thankfully, he is getting better each day but still has a long way to go. He will be in the hospital for at least another week before being able to come home with possible IV antibiotics and nurse visits. Crystal has 3 Forster children (2 brand new infants and a toddler) plus she has 3 biological children at home as well. Crystal goes back and forth to see her husband and also is trying to run the household, getting everyone to appointments and school with minimal help. She’s very overwhelmed and I wanted to do something for her, and I figured a food train would be amazing. Even if you can’t cook or don’t have time, gift cards to restaurants would be amazing too.
