We are organizing a meal train for our mother, Shelley Shay, and father, Paul Shay, during a very difficult time. Recently, my dad was seriously injured in an accident while unloading his side-by-side from a trailer. He suffered multiple significant injuries, including a broken clavicle, tibia, and several broken bones in his ankle. He has already undergone a 5 hour surgery and is expected to undergo another surgery for his collarbone. Due to the severity of these injuries, he will be completely non-weight bearing for at least three months, followed by a long and uncertain recovery. Any help at all for meal prep or helping my mom with yard work would be greatly appreciated. As you can imagine, this has turned daily life upside down for our family. My dad is unable to work for the foreseeable future, creating added financial stress, and my mom is taking on the full responsibility of caregiving while managing everything else at home. Between medical appointments, recovery needs, and the emotional toll of the situation, even simple day-to-day tasks will become overwhelming. We are asking for help to ease some of that burden by providing meals for our parents during this time. Having dinners taken care of would allow my mom to focus on supporting my dad’s recovery without the added stress of meal planning and preparation. As well as yard work for the upcoming months. If you’re able to contribute a meal, gift card, or even just share this with others, it would mean so much to our family. We are incredibly grateful for any support, prayers, or kind words as we navigate this challenging time. Thank you for helping us take care of our dad and mother.
