As some of you may or may not know, the natural placement of katie's jaw does not allow her to fully close her teeth together properly. This misalignment has caused a cascade of adverse symptoms including headaches, TMJ pain, disruptions in digestion and impact on how the teeth fit together. Katie's jaw will have to be essentially detatched, reshaped and then fused back to the bone with wire to keep it in place. She will be unable to talk or move her jaw for a few weeks. She will have to follow a fully liquid diet, reintroducing soft foods in a few weeks. The recovery process will be slow and katie will not be able to work, exercise, bend over or kneel. Many of her daily life activities will be impacted greatly for a while. So we are calling on her village of homies and fam to come through and help lift her spirits and maybe some things around the house for her as she focuses on resting and healing. If you’d like to support her there are a few ways, you can sign up on the calendar below to come keep her company or help out around the house. You can send some flowers to help her feel loved, or some gift cards in lieu of homemade meals as she won’t be able to chew for a while. Even a loving message or card goes a long way! Thank you all for your love and support!
Katie will only be able to eat liquids for the first few weeks so if you would like to send a meal, gift cards for groceries are preferred right now. Thank you! Big Heads Up for Any Food/Liquid Stuff: Katie's allergies are GLUTEN, DAIRY, EGGS, & SOY. Please be aware if you order or bring anything.
