Background Nate has Parkinson's disease and will be undergoing Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery as part of his treatment. DBS is a significant procedure that requires careful recovery and follow-up care. Current State Nate's first surgery is scheduled for March 30th, where he will stay overnight in the hospital. If everything goes well, he will be discharged on the 31st and head to northern Iowa to recover at his families house on April 1st. He will remain there until his next procedure on April 6th, which is an outpatient surgery. Nate will be in Des Moines the night of the 6th for the second surgery, with his family departing on the 7th (this is the tentative schedule). How We Can Support Nate This is a big journey for Nate and his family, and there are several ways we can show up for him during this time. As he recovers between surgeries at his family's home in northern Iowa, he will need rest, comfort, and encouragement. Whether it's meals, company, help with daily tasks, or simply checking in, your support means a great deal. If you'd like to help in any way during his recovery or around the surgery dates, please don't hesitate to reach out so we can coordinate. Let's rally around Nate and make this process as smooth and supported as possible.
