Tam that CML

W
Story

Why I Started This In Kind Page When I first received my diagnosis of Accelerated Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) June of 2025, a direct side effect of the cancer treatment I went through 15 years ago, I knew I was entering a long-term relationship with this disease. It is chronic, which means it is not something I will “beat” in a few months and move on from. Instead, it is something I will manage for the rest of my life. Thanks to medical advances, my doctors believe I can live a long life with this, but treatment comes with ongoing side effects, lifestyle changes, and a lot of emotional, physical, and logistical adjustments. I created this In Kind page because I know I cannot do this alone. There will be moments when I need help with everyday tasks, someone to join me for movement so I can stay active, a hand in keeping my home in order, or simply companionship to lift my spirits. This space is my way of making it easier for friends, family, and community to plug in where they feel comfortable, whether that is cooking a meal together, going for a walk, helping with errands, or just sharing some time over a call. It is also a way to keep my circle updated without having to repeat the same story over and over, and to invite you into this chapter of my life in a way that feels intentional, supportive, and full of care. Your presence, in whatever form it takes, means more than I can say. I am grateful for every check-in, every shared laugh, and every bit of help along the way. This is not just about getting through treatment, it is about living fully together, even in the midst of it.
