C Section Recovery!

Dover, DE

W
Story

Hi everyone! ❤️ As most of you know, I am having my planned C-section on Monday, August 24th. I’ll be staying in the hospital for a few days afterward with the baby and Danny while I recover and adjust to life with our newest little guy. If you’re unfamiliar with C-section recovery… it can be BRUTAL. 😂 This is my third C-section, and unfortunately, each one has been harder than the last. I’ll be recovering from major abdominal surgery while also caring for a newborn, and I’ll have some pretty significant restrictions while my body heals. For the first several weeks, I’ll need to take it very easy, avoid heavy lifting, and limit a lot of the normal household stuff that I would usually help with. Basically, my job will be healing, recovering, and taking care of the baby as much as I can. 😅 And this brings me to Danny. ❤️ Danny is truly my rock. He is one of the most patient, kind, and selfless people I know, and he is already prepared to take on SO much when we finally get home. He’ll be juggling cooking, cleaning, laundry, the girls, sports, baby duty, and making sure that I’m okay and taken care of while I recover. He has already taken on almost everything around the house because I’ve had a REALLY rough third trimester, and I know he is going to continue putting everyone else before himself without thinking twice about it. So, as a little surprise for him, I would LOVE to lighten his load wherever I can. 🥹 Our family is helping with the girls during the first week, which we are incredibly grateful for, but I’d also love to take one thing off Danny’s plate: **meals.** If anyone would like to help us with a meal during those first few weeks, we would be SO incredibly grateful. Whether that means making us a homemade meal, sending a meal delivery/grocery gift card, or even just contributing toward dinner one night—it would genuinely mean so much to us. We are a VERY, VERY picky family LOL 😂 so gift cards may honestly be the easiest route, but here are some safe options if you’d like to cook: baked ziti (meatless), lasagna (meatless), any other meatless pasta, chicken parm, chicken cutlets, grilled chicken, chicken and rice, chicken meals in general LOL, ribs, tacos, quesadillas, fajitas, macaroni and cheese, breakfast meals, No seafood or nuts! ❤️ And before anyone asks—**Danny cannot see this. 😂** I’m hoping to surprise him with some support from his friends and family. I’ll repost it later and tag him so everyone can see it, but I wanted to see what kind of support we could gather before I blow the surprise. ❤️ We truly appreciate every bit of love, support, prayers, meals, gift cards, or even just checking in on us as we welcome this little guy. We have an amazing village, and we are so incredibly thankful for all of you. 🥹❤️ Thank you for helping me take care of the person who is always taking care of everyone else. ❤️
