Story
This past January, Adam Bates celebrated his 30th birthday—a milestone we feared he might never reach. At just 18 years old, Adam was diagnosed with renal failure and was told he likely wouldn’t live past the age of 30. But Adam is a fighter, and for over a decade, he has battled every challenge thrown his way with courage and determination. Since his diagnosis, Adam has endured multiple surgeries, undergone two different types of dialysis, spent countless nights in the hospital, and taken a wide array of medications—all in an effort to simply stay alive. Despite it all, he continues to work hard to support his family. Recently, Adam received another devastating blow: a blood clot in his lung. He now must be on blood thinners for the rest of his life, in addition to many other essential medications. While his insurance helps, it doesn’t come close to covering the full cost. His monthly medications now total approximately $950—a burden that has become incredibly difficult to bear on top of everyday living expenses and bills. We are humbly asking for help. Any support you can provide will go directly toward Adam’s life-saving medications and medical expenses. Your kindness could make all the difference in his continued fight for life. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
