Hi everyone, as you may know, the Lowery family has just received some incredibly difficult and heartbreaking news. Their 3 year old son, Kit, is in the ICU after a large tumor was found in his lung, and right now they are at the very beginning of a process with a lot of unknowns in the weeks ahead. So much is still unclear, and the waiting, decisions, and uncertainty make this especially overwhelming. We’re organizing donations to help lighten the day-to-day load so they can focus fully on being together as a family. Hospital parking, food, and time away from work add up quickly in the middle of everything they're facing. If you’d like to contribute, I’ve listed some options below. Sharing supportive notes is also welcome — every bit of love and encouragement truly helps.
- Gift cards are greater than cooked meals (hospital life = unpredictable): UberEats / DoorDash / $ for parking garages / Venmo are gold - For drop-offs, no expectation of visits: easy, grab-and-go options like smoothies, smoothie bowls, wraps, and protein snacks, etc. - They also have a four-legged family member at home, Pete. He’s currently being cared for, but may need some help soon, as they don’t have family local to Charleston. We will be offering to check in on him, but we would be so grateful for any additional people willing to help with visits, walks, or a little extra love.
