Love for Heather

Story

Heather is just 43 years old and has spent the past ten years bravely fighting cancer. We had all hoped she had beaten it, but it has returned, this time as terminal. Even facing something no one should ever have to endure, she continues to be the strongest, most courageous person we know. She brings warmth and joy to everyone around her, makes people laugh, and somehow always knows exactly what to say when someone needs comfort. Heather is a devoted mom to her three children, Savannah (19), Krysta (18), and Daxton (14) and a loving aunt to her nieces and other family members. She has always loved her family fiercely and wanted the very best for them. As her friend, I’ve watched her pour her heart into raising her children and nurturing her family with so much patience, kindness, and strength. Right now, her family is working to make her remaining time as peaceful and meaningful as possible. But the reality is overwhelming, both emotionally and financially. I’m helping them raise money to support the things no family ever wants to think about: medical bills, end-of-life expenses, and counseling for her children as they prepare for the unimaginable. They are not asking for help because it’s easy. They’re asking because sometimes life changes so suddenly and unbearably that no family has the chance to prepare. And because community can hold people up when everything else feels like it’s falling apart. If you can donate, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. If you can share this, that means just as much. And if all you can offer is a prayer, a kind thought, or a moment of compassion, please know how deeply it is felt. Every act of support, no matter how small, helps give Heather comfort, dignity, and love, and helps her kids hold onto the little time they have left with the woman who has held their world together. Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring. And thank you for helping lift up a family who is trying to navigate something unbearably hard.
