Flores meal train

Fort Sill, OK

Story

Let's rally and show the Flores how special&loved they are in supporting them as new parents. Although nothing is required this page will help us to coordinate meals and helping with other small tasks. At appropriate times of course, if you are able to-think of helping by scooping the litter box, do dishes, fold laundry, taking out trash, and sweep floors. Please try to keep in mind of not overloading with questions, just do the best you can completing any tasks you are graciously helping with. We want to keep the mental load as minimal as possible. Try instead to refer to the schedule/check messages on this page to see if someone has or hasn't completed a task already.

Special Notes

Gentle reminders- Please keep in mind when preparing food to wash hands/use sanitizer(frequently) and avoid cross contamination. Our goals are to provide our friends with healthy meals packed with nutrition, or comforting dishes to warm the soul. Think soups, casseroles, protein-carb-veggie. If possible, avoid using canned items, to avoid sodium. If it's unavoidable to use a canned item, please choose a reduced sodium option and rinse "can juices" off the product. Try to replace canned ingredients with frozen or fresh ingredients. Also, minimize sugar usage, think of using honey instead. Easy ways to pack in extra nutrients is to add spinach into your dish at the end, add shredded carrots, replace sour cream with Greek yogurt. Add in beans or chickpeas, and nuts. Jeanette and Josh aren't very picky, and they are usually open to trying something new, making this process easier for us :) Please package meals in disposables to minimize the chore of dishes. Think of providing paper plates/utensils/Tin foil trays. It would be appreciated that we mainly do porch drop off, unless specifically asked to come in. (if unable to deliver don't hesitate to ask anyone else in this lovely group of ladies for help) If you need any inspiration, feel free to shoot me a text and I have plenty of easy recipes on deck that I know that the Flores enjoy.
