Tina Torres is a force of Nature, a mom, a loving Grandmother, a Community Advocate and Leader. She is also an essential part of our Dent Middle School Blue Diamonds family, serving as our REFOCUS Coach/In-School Suspension Assistant. She is a mentor to our students and an active supporter of their needs. As a colleague, she collaborates with several of us to provide needed services for our students, including organizing our Blue Diamond Boutique, which provided attire, accessories and personal care items for our Eighth Grade Formal participants and our Eighth Grade Promotion Ceremony. Because of her efforts, our students could have the full Blue Diamond experience with elegant promwear and suits with accessories to coordinate with their selections. These items were gifted to the students by Tina's Community Partners and her network. Tina is courageously battling cervical cancer, and will undergo major surgery next week. She will need several weeks to recover, and could use our support at this time. While she is always giving to others, Tina has had to be convinced to allow us to help her, and we want everyone to shower her with as much support as we can. To make it easier, Tina has asked for her gifts be given in the form of gift cards and financial donations, as those will give her the most flexibility during this uncertain time.
