Ride for the Gmitters!

Columbus, MN

Story

Hello. We are kicking off Ride for the Gmitters! for this wonderful family in the wake of heartbreak and upcoming challenges. On December 28th, Joe Gmitter passed away unexpectedly due to cardiac complications after undergoing surgery to fix his broken leg. Those who knew Joe know that he was a humble, kind, and dedicated father and husband with a Minnesotan sense of humor. Joe served as an election judge and he and Linda donated to charitable organizations- he was a really good guy. To complicate this terrible loss, Linda will be undergoing surgery to remove cancer spots on her kidneys in January. After her surgery, she'll have significant lift restrictions while her body heals. Predictably, Linda is an amazing human being herself having worked an educator to the incarcerated, being a supportive mom, and providing only the best home for her hooved friends. The Gmitters are a tight and loving family, but they could a lift (figuratively and literally) from us over the next few months. If you've ever had barnyard animals of any kind, you know how much maintenance they need to stay healthy and fed. If you've ever lost someone close to you, you probably know how difficult it is to keep going at the same pace after a loss. If you've ever had to recover from a major medical procedure, you know how doctor's orders and healing can complicate even small routine tasks. And all of the above? That's where we come in. There are a variety of ways we can ride for the Gmitters, so please explore those options and find a way to support our friends.
