This October, I finally get to do something I have dreamed about for a very long time: **I’m going to Las Vegas for the first time!** Las Vegas has always been the one place I have truly wanted to visit, and I honestly never knew if I would get the opportunity. Through a package we were fortunate enough to get, my boyfriend and I will be spending five nights in Las Vegas beginning October 16. I am incredibly grateful just to have the opportunity to go. The trip itself is happening, and I don't take that for granted. The difficult part is that I don't make a lot of money. I work delivering our local newspaper, and after normal living expenses, there isn't much left over for extras. As the trip gets closer, I've found myself worrying that we'll finally make it to Las Vegas but won't have enough spending money to actually experience much of it. I'm not looking for anyone to pay for an extravagant vacation or give us a "free ride." I'm simply hoping to put together a little extra money for things such as meals, transportation, sightseeing, and maybe a few of the experiences that make Vegas special. This may be the only opportunity I have for a very long time to make this trip, so I would love to come home with memories of actually experiencing Las Vegas rather than remembering all the things we couldn't afford to do. It wasn't easy for me to create this page because asking people for help—especially for something that isn't a necessity—feels uncomfortable. I know there are far more important things people can spend their money on. There is absolutely no expectation or obligation to contribute. But I also know that sometimes people like being part of making someone's dream or special experience possible, so I decided there was no harm in asking. If you would like to contribute toward a meal, an attraction, transportation, or simply a little spending money for our first Vegas adventure, I would be extremely grateful. Even a small contribution would give us something we otherwise might have to skip. And if contributing isn't something you can or want to do, that is completely okay.
