After many years of struggling with joint, tumor and vascular issues, I was finally diagnosed this year with a genetic disorder called Elhors Danlos Syndrome. A trait of this condition is hypermobility and issues with connective tissue. It's been a relief to finally understand why I have dealt with orthopedic issues since a young age. On Monday April 6th, I will have a total knee replacement with a hinged joint to help keep my knee stable and improve my quality of life. Although I am prepared to take this step, I would appreciate your support to help my daughter get me through the next few weeks post op!
