Help Me Bring My Baby Home

W
Story

My name is Sarah Moore, and there is a baby I am hoping to bring home. I have spent months preparing for adoption — filling out forms, going through the required process, preparing my home, and trying to be ready for a child I have not even met yet. The strangest part is that I already think about this baby every day. I wonder what their first night at home will be like. I wonder what they will be afraid of. I wonder what their favorite food will be, what will make them laugh, and what kind of little personality will slowly emerge as they grow. I have already started making space. There is an empty corner in my home that I keep looking at, imagining a crib there. I have caught myself picking up tiny baby clothes in stores and putting them back because I remind myself that I still have a long way to go. And the biggest obstacle right now is something I wish I could solve simply by working harder: the cost. Adoption is expensive, and the fees involved are more than I can comfortably cover alone. There are legal expenses, agency costs, required services, travel, and other unexpected costs along the way.

Special Notes

You are helping me pay adoption expenses, but what you are really giving me is a chance — a chance to open my front door one day with a baby in my arms and finally say, “You’re home.
