Today, we will take time to rest and prepare our hearts and minds for the week(s) ahead. We lost one of my most favorite people in the world today, and I cannot begin to grasp the enormity of this. It's not even been a whole day yet, and we're lost - a day without our son Patrick . We drove around aimlessly for hours because neither of us wanted to return home. Seeing all the heartache on the faces of the people who loved him has sent our hearts into a tailspin; I know for certain he knew he was loved, and the one comfort I have is that my baby is with his Dad and his sister. I officially met Patrick Winterhawk Warrior after 12 hours and 35 minutes of labor and an emergency C-section; he has had my heart since that time. Thank you for all the kind words about our son; he was a gentle guy who loved with both protectiveness and ferocity. We will, in turn, love and protect him with that same energy as we make decisions for the week ahead and do our best to keep everyone updated.
