Hi friends, Our wonderful Maddix is undergoing facial feminization surgery (FFS) on July 23rd. The past year, I’ve witnessed Maddix blossom into this beautiful woman, it was not easy, but she kept persevering. I am incredibly proud of her, the least I can do is organize a meal train to help support her during recovery and to demonstrate how loved she is. The surgery is a major step in Maddix’s gender-affirming surgery journey and while it’s an exciting time, it also a 6 week recovery period where she will need to get plenty of rest, limit her mobility, and need extra care. I will be providing at home care for Maddix for the first week or so of her recovery, and my mom (Patrice) is graciously staying with us to help out. If you’re able to provide a home-cooked meal, order takeout, help out with groceries, or even send a gift card for delivery, it would go a long way. Meals that are easy to reheat, gentle on the stomach, and comforting are especially appreciated. For the first week or so Maddix will be on soft foods and smoothies. (We’ll include dietary preferences and delivery info below.) We ask that any direct communication with Maddix is done via text for the first few weeks.
