Supporting Karina’s Recovery & Family

Spring Valley, CA

Story

The Journey Ahead: On March 4th, I will be undergoing a craniotomy for a supratentorial neoplasm excision (brain surgery to remove a tumor). While I am focused on the surgery and the healing process that follows, my heart is also with my family. My husband will be stepping into the dual role of full-time caregiver for me and our two energetic sons, and I want to ensure he has the support he needs to keep our household running smoothly while I recover. Why We Created This Page: The road to recovery after neurosurgery can be unpredictable. We’ve set up this page to help take the mental and financial "logistics" off our plates so we can focus entirely on health and family stability. If you are looking for a way to help, we have identified a few things that would make a world of difference. Between hospital trips and keeping the boys fed, quick meals will be a lifesaver. Uber Eats gift cards will help us get dinner on the table on the extra long days. For groceries and the "ever-changing" needs of two kids, gift cards to Target or Smart & Final allow us to restock the pantry and grab essentials without the added financial stress. Whether it’s a gift card, a message of encouragement, or a prayer, please know that every gesture helps lower the "noise" of daily life so we can focus on healing. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for walking this path with us. Your kindness means the world to our family.

Special Notes

While I would truly love to see everyone’s faces, my medical team has emphasized that the first few days and weeks post-surgery are critical for "brain rest." With this in mind, I’ve decided to keep my hospital stay and the first few days at home reserved for immediate family only.
