If you know Kristi, you know that she is always taking care of all the things AND everyone else. Now it’s our turn to take care of her! Kristi will be heading to St. Louis on October 8th for open heart surgery to repair her mitral valve that's just a fluttering away due to a genetic condition called Barlow's disease. She and her husband Soren will be in STL for 4-7 days following the surgery, and then comes the even harder part: Kristi having to slow down, rest, AND let other people handle things for a while. That’s where we come in. We’ve created this page so Kristi can focus on healing instead of worrying about keeping everyone updated, making sure everyone else is okay, or managing all the details from her recovery chair. We’ll post updates on here so the people who love her can stay connected without Kristi having to field a hundred texts and messages. Please check this page for updates, ways to help, meals and other needs as they arise. Most importantly, help us give Kristi the space to truly rest and recover!
Food Notes for Kristi When bringing or sending a meal, please keep these in mind: *NO ONIONS — Kristi is allergic. Please check ingredients carefully for onions or onion-based ingredients. *No meat. Kristi eats a vegetarian diet. *Whole, healthy foods are best. Fresh, nourishing meals are preferred. *Please limit highly processed foods. *Simple and comforting is perfect. Note for Soren and Alex: Kristi says that Alex is a teenager with a healthy, soccer playing metabolism and he LOVES all the things that come in packages and almost everything. Soren eats meat, but also prefers to have whole, healthy foods that are nourishing. Thank you for helping us keep Kristi well-fed, cared for, and focused on recovery!
