Michael is an eight-year U.S. military veteran who proudly served his country, including two tours in Iraq. After dedicating years of his life to protecting our freedom, he never imagined that one day he would be fighting a different battle—homelessness. Today, Michael and his loyal companion, Maggie, his 12-year-old dog, are struggling to survive. After losing his home, they were forced to live in a 2003 Ford E-350 Super Duty van. The van has no air conditioning, and the windshield is badly cracked. During the summer months, the heat inside becomes almost unbearable and nearly unlivable. Despite these hardships, Michael continues to work full-time at the veteran cemetery, honoring and caring for those who served before him. He also receives a small amount of assistance from the VA, but it simply isn’t enough to cover his basic needs. Right now, he and Maggie are staying in a hotel room, desperately trying to come up with enough money each day to keep a roof over their heads. Michael isn’t asking for luxury or a handout. He is seeking assistance to repair his van, make it safe and livable, and find stable housing so he and Maggie can finally have a chance to rebuild their lives. This veteran answered the call when our country needed him. Now, he needs us. Please keep Michael and Maggie in your prayers, share their story, and if you are able, offer any assistance you can. Every act of kindness, no matter how small, can make a difference. God, we ask for Your blessings over this veteran and his faithful companion. Surround them with hope, protection, and the support they need to overcome this difficult season. God bless you all.
