Show Love 4 Disabled, Indigenous Momma Who Recently Suffered Abuse

Story

Hi! My name is Cristy! I started this meal train for a very good friend of mine who I consider my sister. She suffers from Systemic Lupus Erythamatosis along with other health issues. Although she has health issues, she does her part in showing up for community and those living on the streets. She helps save lives. She does all this and homeschools her children. She is such a good and loving momma. She recently opened up about the physical, emotional and mental abuse she has been enduring in her home. She had to obtain an order of protection and have this person removed from her home as this person refused to leave her home. It took days to get this done and it was very stressful for her and her family, especially her children. But, she knew she had to follow through with having the abuser removed from her home to protect her children and to protect herself. This has been so hard on her physically and emotionally. She still wakes up in a panick and anxious. This has put her body into a lupus flare up that landed her in the emergency room late last night (9/16) to help alleviate some of the pain and to receive steroids and other meds, via iv, to help try to calm her lupus inflammation. Her face was swollen, her lungs hurt just from breathing and talking, and she has over all body pains. I wish I could physically be there for her but I moved away and I am unable to travel at the moment. I still want to help and show up for her by encouraging others to help this momma with meals as she rests and works through the trauma she had just survived. She is definitely a survivor and an amazing momma for doing what she needed to protect her children.
