Mace’s Intensive Therapy Journey – Round 2 👣💛🦖 We’re heading into round 2 of Mace’s intensive physical therapy, and this one feels extra special. After his first intensive, Mace showed us just how much progress can happen when his body gets the chance to practice over and over again. Intensive therapy means multiple hours a day, several days in a row, focused on building strength, movement, and independence. It’s a lot of hard work, but it’s also full of play, encouragement, and little wins that add up to big moments. This round, we’re continuing to build on that foundation, focusing on core strength, balance, standing, and steps as he gets closer to walking. Every repetition helps his brain and body connect a little more. We’ll also be using spinal stimulation (spinal stim) again. This gentle therapy uses small electrical signals to help support the communication between his brain and muscles. With spina bifida, those signals can be weaker, so spinal stim helps “remind” his body how to activate and move. When paired with intensive therapy, it can make a big difference in helping him access strength and movement he’s been working so hard for. Round 2 is all about building on progress, pushing a little further, and celebrating every step forward no matter how small. Mace continues to show us what resilience looks like. We’re so proud of him and so excited for what this next chapter will bring 💛👣🦖
