My name is Zane, and I’ve spent the last decade pouring my soul into heavy metal music with my band. The roar of the crowd, the crunch of distorted guitars, and the thunder of drums — that’s where I feel most alive. But last week, everything nearly ended on a dark stretch of highway. I was driving when a deer darted out of nowhere. I swerved hard to avoid it. The next thing I knew, the car was flipping, metal screaming, and then flames. By the time help arrived, my only vehicle — and everything inside it — was gone. All my band equipment was packed in the trunk: my amp, guitar, pedals, cables, and personal items that carried years of memories. A total loss. Yet here I am, still breathing. I truly believe my seatbelt and the safety habits I’d built over the years saved my life. In the quiet moments since, I’ve felt an overwhelming sense of protection — like an angel was riding shotgun that night, guiding me through the wreck so I could keep going. This weekend, we’re still scheduled to play the Cancer Awareness Benefit show in Shepherdsville. I’m incredibly grateful we can still make it for that important event. However, with my personal gear destroyed, future shows will be heavily impacted unless we can replace what was lost. I’m reaching out with an open heart, asking for any help you can give so I can recover from this blow, replace my equipment, and keep moving forward with the band. Every dollar, every share, and every kind word, even a meal, means more than I can express. My bandmates and I would be eternally grateful. We want nothing more than to turn this crash into a comeback story — one fueled by community, resilience, and the music that keeps us fighting. Thank you for reading my story. If an angel was watching over me that night, maybe you’re part of the next chapter. Rock on, and God bless. — Zane & the Band
